Marathon Runs in Turkey?
Merhaba all my dear friends in the Turkey section! This Sunday is the Athens Marathon, in which I'll be "running" (more like dying). I was curious as to what marathon runs there are in Turkey, and how popular they are. I found the official site about the Istanbul Eurasia Marathon. Is this marathon considered a big deal in Istanbul? Does it get much press coverage? Do many people go out to watch it? In general, how popular is marathon/long distance running in Turkey? Are there clubs/organizations for long distance runners in Turkey? Thanks for any answers you all might give! :-)

- Oh~I am sure I'll recognise you, if I see you running. The one with the pink tie, right? (oh,no its not your pink tie, its your tongue hanging out ) !!!! Personally, I wouldn't run a marathon. Not that I don't want, but I cannot do it. A little bit of allergic bronchic asthma, a little bit of being lazy.... @Tottaly -Michael Bolt- Blunt! :) @Lmao, that was good!!! HAHAHAH!!!!
- The Eurasia Marathon is a big deal, really, because it is the only one that athletes and the ordinary people both can join. Not to mention, you get to cross the Bosphorus Bridge, which is banned for pedestrians normally. Athletes join clubs, which in turn belong to the Athletism Federation. I didn't hear of amateur clubs. Running a marathon is hard work. Good luck. :) Edit: Run a marathon, GC? :D Uhm. I cannot even walk a marathon, let alone run. :) I am a sprinter. :P Edit2: Totally Bolt for 10 m, Vasiliki. Then back to Totally Done For. :DDD
