why do you love running? why do you run marathons? what motivates you?

i really wanna be a runner, always wanted to do that. i figured why not start. right now i'm doing the couch to 5k program, and my goal is to begin running marathons and just have a love for running. i'd love to run trails in southern california and along the beach. so nice! so my question is why do you do it? what motivates you?

  1. i am fat... I love the tv show the biggest loser. A few seasons ago they did a maration I wanted to do it to... Do i started training... It was exteamly hard to stay motavated. I ended up doing a half marathon in april 2010 I was the last to cross the finish line with a time of 5hrs 21 min and 18 seconds... I NOW have the motivation to run... Finishing my first race was amazing!!! i then did a 5k and am training to do a 10k in november... finish lines are my motavation!
  2. For me it's just the feeling of accomplishment I get. Plus running gives a natural high and makes me feel like I can do anything I set my mind to. I am just starting to run again after an injury that held me back a few years, but with determination you can do it! Losing weight/burning calories is also a plus of course :)
  3. i love running because it lets me get away from all my problum and lets the stress go away and it makes me feel good about myself because i know that i am doing something that is for my body:) i stay motivatd by thinking about the cross country season and that i dint wanna be the worse runner so i go running. i cant do a marathin because i am to young but when i get older i am gonna do lots of them :)
  4. I love running for a number of reasons. First it is great exercise. You don't need allot of equipment like other sports but you do need a couple of pair of good running shoes. You don't need to partner to play with like tennis. Although it is always nice if you have the opportunity to run with a buddy. Running allows me to relieve stress and gives me time to think and sort out the daily problems of life. If you are lucky you can run for most of your life. I get the sense of accomplishment after each run whether it is 3 miles or 10 miles. Another sense of accomplishment is training for and completing fun runs or races. However, to be a runner must like to run. Good luck.
